WELCOME!
  The area covered by the Barnsley & District Society of Change Ringers is the area within a 12 mile radius of St Mary's parish church, Barnsley.
 
The object of the Society is the cultivation of the art of change ringing and the promotion of good fellowship among ringers.
 
Closed lead minor ringing (cartwheel) is encouraged and promoted by the Society but not to the exclusion  of other forms of ringing.

All Saints, Silkstone winners of the 2008 Barnsley Shield Contest  

The contest was held at at All Saints, Cawthorne on Saturday 8th March 2008. Four bands entered the contest, Cawthorne, Kirkheaton, Penistone and Silkstone. The contest ringing was followed by an excellent tea organised by the home band. After tea, contest judge Derek Johnstone announced that the winning band was Silkstone. The runners up were Cawthorne. There was general ringing after the contest and the whole event was well supported.
